Exploratory Art 6

Students will explore the elements and principles of design through different materials in this nine week course. We will work on drawing, painting and sculpture projects. Lessons will incorporate a general overview media, vocabulary, techniques, styles of art, and related artists.

Art 7

Art 7 is a nine week course. We will focus on the elements and principles of design. Techniques in pencil and color will be reinforced. Students will work through drawing, painting, and sculpture problems and exercises. 

Art 8

Art 8 is a semester long course. Students will further develop techniques in drawing, painting and sculpture. Each lesson will incorporate the study of a particular medium, appropriate vocabulary, techniques, styles of art, and artists related to the medium. This class is designed for students who were enthusiastic about art in the seventh grade and want to continue to explore their artistic style. 

Art 8 Advanced

Art 8 Advanced is designed for students who love art and are serious about developing their artistic talents in art. Students will learn the appropriate vocabulary, techniques and styles of art for a variety media and will research famous artists. Composition, design problems, value studies and color theory will be reinforced in each lesson. This class offers open-ended projects that allow for personal interpretations. Students must have taken Art 8 in order to take this course.
