I am honored and humbled to serve as the principal of Simmons Middle School. I am very passionate about education and look forward to partnering with you to provide our students with a rigorous, engaging, and high quality education. Most of all, I look forward to working with our students and continuing the strong history of academic excellence our district offers.
I have spent 22 years in different roles throughout my educational career. I have served as a teacher in the Dallas County School System, Jefferson County, and Tarrant City Schools. I spent 17 years at Tarrant; as an administrator of the Alternative Program, Attendance Officer, Athletic Director, Principal of Tarrant Middle School, and lastly, serving as Principal of Tarrant Elementary School. My academic background includes a B. S. in Human Performance and Physical Education from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!!!!), a Masters of Science in Educational Leadership, as well as an EDS in Educational Leadership from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (Go Blazers!!!!).
It is my core belief that great schools are the results of great teachers, so my primary objective will be to ensure that every student is receiving high quality instruction from every teacher at Simmons Middle. I envision a Simmons Middle School that will prepare ALL students academically, socially, and emotionally for the bright future that awaits them. We will strive to provide all students with a safe and supportive learning environment. Working together as a team with our staff, parents, and community stakeholders, I am committed to helping each student achieve their very best. Together we will provide outstanding educational opportunities and a culture of academic excellence for our students.
Again, I am thankful to have the opportunity to serve the Simmons Middle School community. I look forward to getting to know you and your students as we start this new and exciting school year together.
Go BUCS!!!!
